Featuring 77 of the internet's most prominent figures, contestants are competing for a whopping 300 million won (roughly £170,000) and the title of top influencer on the show. I agree to the processing of my data in accordance with the conditions set out in the policy of Privacy. Viewers purchase one star balloon for ₩110 KRW (about $0.08 USD), and BEST FREE PORN VIDEOS BJs receive around ₩60 KRW (about $0.04 USD) to ₩70 KRW (about $0.05 USD) per balloon. In other words, they want their content to be provocative so it draws in viewers which makes them money. This is why a lot of streamers sometimes develop severe depression or panic disorders.
From video games, to comedy, to daily life vlogs — the livestreaming website contains content from all different genres. However, amongst the many different genres are the female BJs who gain popularity for beautiful visuals. Recently, the salaries of famous AfreecaTV broadcasting jockeys (BJs) were revealed, causing netizens to understand why so many people are becoming live-streamers.
Many BJs make a shockingly high salary from their livestreams, which may be the reason why so many people have been turning to AfreecaTV and other popular livestream websites to create online content. BJ Kim Siwon, a former member of the girl group GLAM, who won the AfreecaTV BJ award, received 22,247,511 star balloons this year alone. Her estimated annual revenue is expected to exceed ₩2.40 billion KRW (about $1.78 million USD). Thanks to the popularity of star balloons, AfreecaTV is expected to show even stronger results in the third quarter. The provocative, violent, sensitive content, as well as broadcasts of women and men showing off their bodies I described above, are pouring out continuously.
When this system of a steady income was made, live streamers were firmly established in Korea. Internet broadcasting refers to creators who film themselves in front of a camera and go live. Her intro video bills her as one of the top content creators on Afreeca TV, with a follower count of 159,000. It’s already been 3 years since Produce 48 aired and Kim Hyunah’s recent whereabouts have recently begun to make headlines. It’s been reported that the former idol transformed her career path from an idol-in-training to a female internet broadcasting jockey. Their real-life social media reach ranges from 17,000 followers all the way to 27 million.
The cast member in question is Juice Seyeon, who works on Afreeca TV - South Korea's version of Twitch. First, from the perspective of the creator, Internet broadcasting is a career with a very unstable source of income. You can find many videos of creators playing a variety of games from video games to mobile games. Since it became very popular in Korea, a lot of creators overseas have also created their own 'mukbang' content. In 2015, Twitch began to enter the Korean live-broadcasting market by adding Korean servers and signing contracts with popular Korean BJs. So live streamers of AfreecaTV try hard to entertain their viewers and get reactions.
