The underlying principle is straightforward: a country grants residency rights to foreigners who invest a qualifying amount in local kolasin real estate estate. The threshold is set very differently across programmes, and legislators change it regularly.

An important distinction divides residence and citizenship. The permit allows you to live in the country, generally subject to renewal, but a passport generally takes years of actual residence. An agent's promise of citizenship simply for buying an apartment is reason for caution.

Beyond the investment itself, these schemes come with further conditions. Typical examples cover a clean criminal record, medical insurance, documented income and a required physical presence buy property in ierapetra the country per year. Missing a single condition can cost you the permit while you still own the home.

Tax status is an entirely separate matter. Having residency does not by itself make you taxable on worldwide income, but crossing the day-count threshold frequently does. A number of states apply a residence test based on days, and the effects extend to earnings from abroad.

The realistic approach is essentially simple: choose the property for sale in kucuk erenkoy first, with the permit as a secondary benefit. Such schemes close from time to time, and a buy property in buyukcekmece chosen only for a permit proves difficult to let and difficult to sell.
