Instead of being limited to being human, Divinity: Original Sin II gives the player the option to also be an elf, dwarf, lizard, or undead, though that last one which is personally the most interesting option is not presently available in the Early Access build. There are also optional origin stories that the player can use for their character, four are currently available but more will be included in the final release. Origin stories not selected by the player will be seen in NPCs met during the SLG Game Maps that could join the party. These different origin stories add an extra dynamic to both single and multiplayer modes. Not all characters will have the same objectives they want to achieve, which can lead to some conflicts. With their being freedom to play the game any way a player decides, how conflicting goals among party members are addressed is entirely up to the player's imagination. This can be even more interesting in multiplayer, especially since the option to have four players simultaneously is now included. Playing with three other people who all have conflicting objectives can elevate the role playing element beyond what can be achieved in most video game RPGs.

The world of the sequel has also become much darker than the first time we visited it. The narrative is more grounded this time around, but with the Divine being dead and the Void growing things are much more desolate and dismal this time around, though with the greater emphasis on doom and gloom the distinct narrative voice we have come to know from Larian studios remains in place. In addition to the humans and humanoid races, information may also be gathered by communicating with spirits and animals. The battle engine will feel familiar to players of the original, though certain tweaks have been made such as the ability to combine elements such as fire and poison when one of those agents of death just doesn't seem like quite enough. Additionally, blessing and cursing areas can alter the very ground combat is taking place in, incurring bonuses or penalties to whoever sets foot in the effected area.

Creating a Lockpick is a quick and easy recipe that requires a Hammer and Nails. While this produces only 4 Lockpicks, the Hammer isn't consumed during crafting and remains in the player's inventory. As long as the player has nails, they have an unlimited source of the item. Players can also craft Lockpicks using Soap and a Key. Much like the Hammer, the crafting process does not consume Keys. If the player has two Needles, their combination will also result in a Lockp

Next on the list is Divinity: Original Sin 2 , a game which was 100% crowdfunded, and is in the minority of games to be crowdfunded that go on to be huge successes. In other words, picking a character with a backstory gives more weight to an average playthrough. It also helps the player feel connected to the main quest. This kind of entrenched identity can't be achieved as easily with a custom character created from scrat

The Sexy Brutale is the perfect cross of Clue and Groundhog Day , allowing the player to unravel a series of murders in the titular casino, all of which happen in the span of one day. The player can reset the day at any point, allowing for quick exploration to put the pieces together to stop the different murders happening at the Brutale. Adramahlihk is a nefarious presence who hounds Lohse at every step of the way, forging a contract with her that has tied her down with a curse that she needs to get rid of at all costs. The end of her character's quest line comes when players meet Doctor Daeva, a mysterious figure who speaks at length about how they'll help the player out as long as they help him ascend to divin

Most crafted items will sell for more Gold than their ingredients will individually. The player should take that into account as they might be able to make easy money by selling items they don't need if the sale value is high enough, one of the ingredients is not consumed in the process, and the other is easy enough to get a hold

Upon arrival the player is alone and free to explore the island. Certain NPCs and Origin characters from the ship can be found and react to the player based on how the player behaved toward them previously. Up to three party members can be recruited and there is no shortage of side quests or other activities. How the player behaves towards the party members and other people around influences the attitude they form toward the player, and if they find the player particularly unpleasant they may leave the group outright. All Origin characters can be recruited but only three may be in the party at any time so players are encouraged to swap out members and see who is the best fit based on combat attributes and personality.
