Known for its quirky, often surreal style, the Timesplitters series is regarded as one of the most entertaining FPS series' in gaming. Relying more on humor, parody and an abundance of monkeys than on an intense, realistic narrative, the series has carved out a distinct style for itself that gamers have been wanting more of for years. Developer Crytek UK has been open to the idea of another title , Timesplitters 4 may be primed for announcement at

Project Ego sounded like nothing I had played before. Being able to pick and choose which quests to take wasn't exactly groundbreaking, but the idea of the game taking place across the character's lifetime was intriguing. There was talk about how the character would be designed and uniquely tailored to the player's gameplay and they would be able to have children that would have a significant impact in the world. The character would receive unique scars from battle, they could plant a sapling and watch it grow in a massive tree throughout the course of the game and the NPCs would have unique reactions to the player based on their deeds to create the sense of a living world the player was truly a part of.

The gaming world learned a very important lesson with the release of Halo : those men and women at Bungie know what they're doing. After taking the shooter franchise to the absolute heights of video game fame and profitability, they left the project in Microsoft's hands to try something new. We've known for some time that Bungie was working on something , but only recently has it become very likely that the next PC (possibly virtual-reality) game from the developers is currently titled Desti

Anyone who's played Fable knows that it fell short of these amazing claims and there's a good chance they felt disappointed when they saw it failed to live up to everything it was supposed to be if they pre-ordered. This is unfortunate, because once we get past Molyneux's grandiose claims for what Fable will be and just accept it for what it actually is, Fable turned out to be a rather impressive final product. Raising children wasn't an option in the first Fable and sadly neither was killing the little brats that ran through the town, but overall the game seemed to match the goals of what Molyneux wanted to create, even though it came in a much more scaled back version of what he raised our expectations to be. The story progressing across a lifetime basically got reduced to the hero would whenever they leveled up and the world didn't seem to change at all from when the hero when from his teenage years to entering his sixties. On the other hand, Fable had a bit of an unexpected Monty Python quality with a narrator. He wasn't the most useful voice as he would typically tell you there is a quest card at the guild or randomly ask "what's that?" but having a disembodied British voice throughout the game was a nice touch.

600But earning those power-ups isn't as simple as spending one's earned coins, it's actually facilitated via the game's coolest feature. After each level players accumulate a certain number of dice rolls, which determine the improvements they have access to. Rather than being able to increase your damage percentage outright, players have to hope they roll the appropriate number and land on that space. It's quite an ingenious little addition, and helps keep that carrot-on-a-stick always out of re

While the new Medal of Honor was praised for its change in setting, it was more of the same the genre already had to offer. We had Battlefield: Bad Company and Call of Duty already and this game followed a similar path, only without anything new attached to it. In doing so, it just became another run-of-the-mill shooter. It would have its audience, but wouldn't be the groundbreaking experience it promised to be for critics or gamers, and certainly not a contender to take down Call of Duty like EA promi

With prosthetic limbs becoming ever more advanced, the world of cyberpunk shooter series Deus Ex is starting to seem like a realistic vision of the future. As human beings start to use technology to evolve their own biology, the player is faced with some hard choices regarding what the future of the human race should look like, and how it should be governed. The original Deus Ex is still the pinnacle of the series, but Deus Ex: Human Revolution was the title that really demonstrated just how great a movie adaptation could l

In service of drawing in a younger, and family-conscious fan base Lionhead has made a ton of concessions, and essentially created a completely different game than anything that exists in the Fable universe. The goal of each level in Fable Heroes , each a part of a larger board game , is to bash, zap, or shoot every enemy and collect the coins they leave behind. Those coins are then used on a whole variety of power-ups and improvements, from more damage to new puppet charact
