In a massive (and occasionally daunting) open-world game made by hundreds of people over thousands and thousands of work hours, I sometimes nestle into one or two areas or goals to make the game feel more manageable. It usually starts out as focus on the story and side quests that interest me; from there, maybe I focus on filling out the map or tracking down secrets. By the end of my time with a game on that scale, one of those tasks triumphs over the others and becomes my favorite element in the game.
Far Cry 5 ranks at the beginning of my list for Game of the Year and it barely made it onto here. Let me tell you a story of how I even came to purchase this title. Your time on the tropical-paradise-gone-wrong is remarkably short, which can understandably leave some players feeling somewhat cold. The good news is that if you ever want to go back there, you can, at least for now. You need to glitch your way back. It's nice to see a Call of Duty game be fun again, and actually feel somewhat balanced. Blackout is another story - that mode absolutely sucks. Zombies becomes more and more complicated every year, so much so that I don't feel like it's a "casual mode" anymore. All I want is for me and my friends to jump into zombies and see how long we last, but the maps are too convoluted and you have to do a crap ton of objectives just to unlock the better weapons. I want Zombies from the original Black Ops back.
