We have different skin types and colours, concerns and goals, and some habits that are not skin-friendly – all of which impacts the way our skin behaves, reacts or ages. And with endless treatment and skincare options out there, understanding and finding the right plan can be a little bit of a minefield.
If you have mild skin concerns or you’d like to feel more confident in your skin but you’re unsure where to start, a free personalised skin consultation with a specialist practitioner or nurse at sk:n can help you gain a deeper understanding of your skin, and which treatment and skincare programmes will get you to the best skin of your life.

What happens in the skin consultation
Our aim is to find out what you love and don’t love about your skin, if you have any particular skin concerns and what your skin goals are. We combine that information with a full skin examination and assessment, so we can create the right treatment and skincare plan for you.
During your consultation, we’ll remove makeup or products from so we can fully examine your skin, including assessing the texture, thickness and colour which could indicate concerns such as acne or pigmentation. Your skin will also be examined under a skin scanner, which can indicate if your skin is healthy, dehydrated, oily, congested or has sun damage. We will take your before photos, so you can see your progress throughout your treatment plan.
We’ll then discuss your daily and monthly skincare and treatment plan to get the best results for you and your skin. We may recommend a number of options including chemical peels, microneedling or Hydrafacial, and skincare to use at home. Depending on your goals or the severity of your skin concern, we will refer you to a doctor or specialist nurse. And if you are interested in injectables as a solution to the signs of ageing, we can also refer you to a doctor or nurse prescriber too.
To secure an appointment, we will require a deposit. Your credit or debit card details will be secured against your booking. Virtual consultations are free of charge subject to a £25 deposit. In-person consultations are priced at £50. Please refer to our terms and conditions for more information.

Book a General skin analysis and consultation skin consultation with a specialist nurse or practitioner. Ideal for those with mild to moderate skin concerns including mild acne, congested skin, open pores, pigmentation, dull skin and mild signs of ageing, or for those who are simply just unsure where to start. Your skin will be fully examined for a number of skin concerns, your skin goals will be assessed, and your personalised treatment plan will be recommended. If you have more pronounced skin concerns that require a doctor or dermatologist, we may refer you, and can also refer you to a nurse prescriber or doctor for anti-ageing injectables.
To secure an appointment, we will require a deposit. Your credit or debit card details will be secured against your booking. For Practitioner or Nurse consultations we take a fully refundable (subject to terms) deposit of £25 and £50 for Doctor led consultations. Please refer to our terms and conditions for more information.
Your skin consultation lasts around minutes. This will allow the practitioner to fully assess your skin and your skin goals, discuss your concerns and create a recommended treatment plan.
The consultation is completely free, but we do require a £25 deposit to secure your consultation. You won’t be charged if you attend your appointment, or you cancel or move your appointment over 48 hours before your appointment in line with our cancellation policy.
The cost of your treatment and/or skincare plan will be confirmed during your consultation, but treatment can start from £59, depending on your clinic.
Your consultation will be with one of our experienced specialist nurses or practitioners with extensive knowledge of the skin. Should you have a more severe skin concern, they can also refer you into a doctor or dermatologist if you need to see one. Please note these consultations with a doctor or dermatologist are chargeable and do require a refundable* deposit – please check the consultation price before booking. We can also refer you to a doctor or nurse prescriber for an injectables consultation if you are concerned about the signs of ageing. These consultations are free, but we do require a refundable* £50 deposit to secure your booking. Please check our terms and conditions for more information.
We will ask you to come makeup free, but feel free to bring some with you to put on after the consultation if you wish.
Our expert skin practitioners will ask a variety of questions which are designed to help them create the best plan of action to tackle your skin concern. For example:
You can wear makeup to your appointment, however, we recommend that you come makeup free so that we can spend the maximum amount of time assessing your skin. We cannot fully examine your skin with makeup on as we need to assess the texture, thickness and colour which could indicate concerns such as acne or sensitivity.
Step 1 – We will have a chat with you about everything you don’t love about your skin, whether you have any particular concerns and what your goals are to help us create your personalised plan.
Step 2 – Before photos will be taken, allowing us to track your progress throughout your treatment plan.
Step 3 – Your skin will be examined under a skin scanner * which will indicate if your skin is healthy, dehydrated, oily, congested, sun-damaged etc. Our practitioners will also touch your skin to allow us to assess the texture, thickness and sensitivity of your skin.
Step 4 – Our expert will create a personalised treatment plan for you, which could combine both treatments and an at-home product regime. We may recommend several options including chemical peels, microneedling, laser treatment or Hydrafacial, and skincare to use at home. If you have a more severe concern, such as cystic acne, we will refer you to a doctor. If you are interested in anti-ageing injectables to boost your confidence, we can also refer you to a doctor or nurse prescriber.
