" DICE is creating our next Battlefield game with never-before-seen scale. The technical advancements of the new consoles are allowing the team to deliver on a true next-gen vision for the franchise. We have hands-on play testing underway internally, and the team’s been getting very positive feedback on the game as we’ve begun to engage our community. The next Battlefield is set to launch in holiday 2021, and we are excited to share a lot more about the game in the sprin

Consider 2017's Battlefront 2 , a Star Wars property that borrows many of the same gameplay elements from Battlefield . There was an undeniably dedicated amount of work put into the singleplayer story of Battlefront 2 , and yet it was one of the lesser portions of that game. The Star Wars franchise is (more or less) known for engaging storytelling, but for a main IP like Star Wars ' Battlefront to have a story mode that's largely ignored or glossed over, it shows that EA's shooter gameplay carries itself over an engrossing storyline. Battlefield doesn't even have an established ethos or universe to draw from like Star Wars , so another story campaign in Battlefield likely won't do well unless it's revolution

Battlefield 6 _ will have the largest scope of any game in the long-running series, and it's set to be released in the 2021 holiday season. Publisher EA previously revealed that the next title in the _Battlefield series would be released next year after it announced that Battlefield 5 and Star Wars: Battlefront 2 , both of which are developed by DICE, would be receiving their final content updates this y

As a result, Battlefield 5 's Firestorm became unplayable for many fans of the mode , effectively killing any interest in Battlefield 's attempt at battle royale. So many other battle royales just offered more enjoyable versions of the same core experience, so players abandoned the experience. Though partially due to the issues with Battlefield 5 's core multiplayer modes, Firestorm also seemed to lose support from the developers as they shifted focus to fixing other modes. Lack of support from both ends basically let Firestorm die off without so much as a whimper, which is a shame because there were certainly good bones in its structure despite its many shortcomi

At the end of the day, Battlefield would benefit on giving the battle royale genre another shot. Assuming the support structure is there, plenty of lasting content is planned, and there's enough care put into the battle royale's beginning days, then there's no reason a Battlefield battle royale can't succeed or carve its own niche in the genre. Hopefully Firestorm and Battlefield V doesn't discourage DICE from giving the evergreen shooter genre another

Call of Duty , despite being relatively on top of its game in the past year, will need to determine how it's going to shake things up for its annual release. Modern Warfare added a lot of different changes that made the game very similar to Battlefield , especially with the revamp of the Ground War multiplayer mode. But Call of Duty could run into an issue if Battlefield is able to follow up with its own core modes that ends up being a better version of Ground War. Black Ops 4 introduced Blackout as its standout mode to great acclaim, but with Warzone out and continually boasting huge player numbers, 2020's Call of Duty wouldn't want to compete with that . This year's Call of Duty will need to figure out what its core difference will be this year, and Zombies can only carry Treyarch so

It's no secret that EA's biggest shooter franchise has had a rough time recently. Apex Legends has done surprisingly well, but that's mostly because it was designed by Respawn Entertainment, without EA's proprietary Frostbite engine. No shame to Frostbite, as some of the capabilities of the engine for Battlefield games are incredible. But in recent years, Battlefield has seen somewhat of a decline from the mainstream shooter it used to be. Battlefield 6 is said to be the very next entry, and it needs to make a comeb

Used to be that Battlefield was further ahead of the game in terms of weapon and equipment customization than Call of Duty was. Back when the game came out, Battlefield 3 introduced a weapon customization system that wasn't constrained to this one attachment, one playstyle method that Call of Duty swore by. Battlefield 2042 news|https://battlefield2042hq.com/ 3 allowed three particular customizations for most primary weapons in the game: sights/scopes, barrel types like silencers, and under-barrel attachments like grips or launchers. The game also allowed more flexibility in primary weapon choice, instead of Assault classes exclusively using assault rifles or Support classes only using light machine g

Then the Modern Warfare reboot implemented Gunsmith , which leveraged its perk systems with an obscene level of weapon customization. Players could choose up to five different attachments from a selection of nine categories, ranging from weapon muzzles to ammo capacities. The freedom in choice is massive, allowing for various builds on weapons that would either be invalidated or at least considered weaker in previous Call of Duty games. Loosening the attachment restrictions has lead to a wealth of variety in weapon choice and customizatbattlefield-2042-second-chance.jpg
